GCE O Levels are over.

There. I said it.

It's surreal and somewhat anti-climatic that the day we've been waiting for for the past 11 months has finally arrived and gone, or will be going within the next hour and ten minutes. When we heard "Time's up, pens down" for the final time today, I felt mostly relief rather than the expected euphoria. Life goes on, the world keeps turning, our exams finally end.

I am probably only being this pensive and unenthusiastic because I played a part in Operation: Prom Dress today and trawled Orchard for 7 hours straight with a bunch of veteran shoppers. Basically my feet feel like they're about to fall off and I can't really keep my eyes open, which also means that I won't be venturing into a mall for a considerable period of time.


In other news:

1. Schedule packed to the brim for the next week or so. It's the nice kind of busy though - y'know, the one doesn't involve cramming four years of study into my brain.

2. Prom get-up: 95% complete! Not a tuxedo as planned, but certainly not inferior to one. However, I still do need to secure some black gloves to complete it.

3. I got into Owl City. It is amazing. I just needed to get that off my chest before I drown myself with Fireflies and Saltwater Room on repeat.

4. Today I changed in the male toilet of my school for the first and last time. I probably shouldn't be as proud of this feat as I actually am.

5. I was going to try to be productive during NaNoWriMo month. Was. It is not going so well.

6. AFA registration failed because they closed cosplayer registration early, but that is absolutely not stopping me from going as Kyouraku Shunsui. "Hachibantai taicho, Kyouraku Shunsui. Hajimemashite." I HAVE TO. Plus I have Ms Pang's approval, and I can't let her down. /resolute

7. Yes okay, I've been an otaku lately. When animanga is more active than real life fandom, you know that JE is going through a phase.

8. Who wants Christmas Cards? ♥ I'll probably have a separate entry for you festive people to drop your addresses, so that I can send out some seasonal joy to you all. And if you were wondering, that pun was intended.

HI GUYS.

So I disappeared off the face of LJ for a week or so and succeeded in being an awful non-commenting friend, but the good news is that I survived and am well on my way back to making it up to you all! YAY. How I will do that still eludes me, but surely I'll figure something out.

Over the course of the past two weeks I somehow managed to:

1. Enjoy the first week of afternoon papers and waking up late
2. Goof up my E Math P1 by writing down my calculator's serial number instead of the model number
3. Earn $100 for my published poem (!!!)
4. Be within 1.5 meters of Neil Gaiman
5. Fall in love with the hilarity that is the Singaporean literary scene
6. Suffer ridiculous headaches
7. Get through the hell of the second week
8. Go out for the first time in forever (okay, a week but the book launch didn't really count)
9. Realize the need to find another cosplay costume provider
10. Get into Gintama.

Yes, life's been okay with all the good things balancing out the bad things, I've been enjoying the weather and the temporal, unofficial freedom that comes with having simpler papers left, and struggling to find out where to get my tux.

Otherwise, I've been a pretty boring person. More after the commercial break.

You know what I wanna do right now? I want to put on my running shoes, dash out of the house and tear down the streets screaming YEAH WELL BRING IT ON, BITCHES!!!!

But of course, considering how that wouldn't be a wise choice to risk incarceration for creating public disorder, I'm just going to sit here, sip tea, write poetry and ready myself for the O Levels. TO THE EXTREME.

In other average news, I very nearly lost my biology textbook today, leading me to spend the day in a state of constant anxiety. I'd almost given up after triple checking every place I went to yesterday, until on my second dejected trip to the staff room Mrs Cha caught me midway and told me to check her pigeonhole. i don't think I had ever been so happy to see my thick, worn-out, dog-eared and obnoxiously yellow textbook. It probably didn't warrant a victory dance all the way back to my classroom, but even little things need to be celebrated sometimes. It helps that I was totally happy to study Heredity for the first time ever.


In utterly regular news, I'm tired again. This lethargic lament does make me feel rather old.

[ In light of my growing likeness to Jabba the Hut and in a fit of exercise mania, I hit the inclined bench yesterday and did sit ups like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately there are tomorrows and now I can't move around without my abdomen hurting like the blazes.

[ Why yes I have stepped into the f(x) fandom. This is clearly a breakthrough because I am neither into Koreans nor girl bands and they are both. LA CHA LA CHA TA TA.

[ I am a happy happy child and possibly entirely consoled of my brother's engagement because he has made his way back into my good books by buying me JUMP merchandise.

1. Got into Katekyo Hitman Reborn and unwisely spent my entire September holiday going through 200+ chapters of it on OneManga instead of doing something productive like, you know, studying for my O Levels. 2. OH MY GOD YOU GUYS WHY ARE ALL MY CRUSHES FOR ANIME CHARACTERS COMING BACK NOW. I should have gotten over all this three years ago but why. All. So cute. If it's not Sano it's Hisagi, if it's not Hisagi then it's Yamamoto, and then suddenly there's Hibari and Dino and TYL!Gokudera and well, EVERYBODY ELSE. Help ;A;


3. Gaining weight like anything you guys. Chiharu makes me feel inadequate with her posts on going to the gym. Someone tell me to stop being a fat slob already.


4. Have I mentioned AFA to you guys yet? I HAVEN'T MENTIONED AFA? WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING.

5. My mother caved. I'm wearing a tux for prom. Guilt-tripping may have been involved, especially since my sister has recently secured herself a horse.


6. I think I'm going to Hong Kong at the end of this year. Funny because I'd made plans with Val before she left to go there, and now I'm really making the trip, but without her. Damn you, Irony!

I have done things over the past few days! But I am far too lazy to bore all of you with the recent TURN OF EVENTS (trumpet) which didn't really turn much at all so I will come back and be coherent again when I am not inundated with doujinshi and downloaded manga. Yes, that is how I have been filling my days. My teachers, they will be so proud of me.

FACT: I finally know how to pronounce Ulquiorra's name YEAHHH. I do not understand why Kubo Tite is so thrilled with impossible names that have no way of being properly pronounced on first try. Don't even get me started on the rest of the goddamned Espada.
